June Drive 2017 – Vancouver Island

    June 2-4th, 2017

Another event under our belt along with another success!

This past weekend we hit Vancouver Island hard for June Drive 2017 with 16 Lamborghini drivers and their passengers in support of Robert’s Ride. Another perfect combination of people, cars, and weather to result in a great 2017 June Drive.

We started this drive on Friday, June 2nd in Vancouver where everyone gathered and convoyed over to the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal. There, our impressive group relaxed on the 1hr and 40min cruise over to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island where we would find excellent roads and weather conditions. Our first stop was the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit in Cowichan. Drivers completed laps around this short but challenging track and enjoyed lunch in the circuit’s clubhouse.

After an approximate 2hr drive, the longest part of our journey, we made it to scenic Campbell River and Painter’s Lodge Resort right on the water. After some downtime and a refresh, the group came together again for dinner at Dolphin’s Resort, just a short walk away from Painter’s Lodge. There, we enjoyed great food and company before retiring prior to a busy day ahead.

The following day, Saturday, the group gathered at the Legends dining room at Painter’s Lodge for a big breakfast before we set off for another drive. 229km and 2 hr later up along a terrifically windy highway, we arrived to the most northern community on Vancouver Island, the small town of Port Hardy. With only a population of 4,000 residents at the last census, we attracted a crowd and many residents came out to say hi and take snapshots of our rides.

After a quick lunch at Port Hardy’s Quarterdeck Pub, we headed back to Campbell River. This time, drivers and guests were able to take full advantage of the amenities that Painter’s Lodge had to offer: pool, hot tub, and spa services livened up the group after a lot of driving. That evening, we came together for our last dinner of the trip. This time, we stayed close to home and enjoyed dinner, clam-bake style.

Sunday morning came along quickly and some of our drivers opted to go fishing as soon as the sun rose in the “Salmon Capital of the World.” After a world-class seafood brunch, we congregated for the last time for a group photo before heading back to reality.

We cannot thank our participants enough for coming out and supporting our cause, Robert’s Ride. Robert Rons is the sales and brand manager at Lamborghini Vancouver, he is cycling from Paris to Geneva in support of three incredible charities: BC Children’s Hospital, BC Cancer Society and The Michael J. Fox Foundation. To see more information or to donate please click here, any donation is highly valued and appreciated, and 100% of proceeds will be split equally between all three charities.

Once again, on behalf of the Lamborghini Calgary team, thank you to our drivers and guests for their participation and support without whom this event could not have been a success.
