EPIC. This is the only word we can use to describe GIRO Canada 2017. 21 Lamborghini’s set off from our Lamborghini Calgary showroom on a 4-night, 5-day legendary road trip. 1500km, remarkable scenery, new friendships, new memories…. a truly once in a lifetime experience that will not be forgotten.
The first day began early on Wednesday morning with drivers arriving for an Italian-themed breakfast at our showroom at 8.00 am. Breakfast was followed by a driver’s meeting to sum up our day and to answer any questions drivers may have had. At 9.00 am we set off towards our first destination across the US border. The road to the border was a fun one, up through East Glacier Park, drivers saw exceptional views and turns that required quick thinking and [...]

Comments Off on Testing Lamborghini’s Newest And Fastest Supercar, The Huracán Performante, At Its Hometown Track
What do customers considering plunking down $242,000 for Lamborghini’s Huracán supercar want even more? The Italian exotic carmaker is betting on its answer: a faster, more powerful, and more expensive Lamborghini Huracán: the Huracán Performante.
Lamborghini Huracán Performante
Lamborghini revealed the $274,390 Huracán Performante, a high-performance version of the already high-performance car, at the Geneva Motor Show in March. This week, executives gave journalists the opportunity to drive it at Lamborghini’s hometown track, the Autodromo Internazionale di Imola, near the company’s Northern Italy headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese.
A more track-oriented version of the standard Huracán may seem redundant, but for an additional $32,000, the Performante offers improved steering, braking, and suspension that translate into an edge in performance. The Performante can zip from zero to 60 m.p.h. in 2.9 seconds instead of the comparatively sluggish 3.2 [...]

Comments Off on “Lamborghini Huracán Performante sets new ‘Ring record
Sant’Agata Bolognese, 1 March 2017 – The Lamborghini Huracán Performante has already proved its extraordinary capabilities ahead of its unveiling at Geneva Motor Show next week.
On 5 October 2016, the Huracán Performante set a new production car lap record of 6:52.01 min on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany.
Following the day’s open sessions on the “Ring”, at 17.00 officials closed the track to other manufacturers. After official track checks this left just a 15-minute window for Lamborghini to make one attempt at the lap record with a production Huracán Performante, still in its development camouflage.
With Lamborghini test driver Marco Mapelli behind the wheel, who also drove the Aventador SV to its Nürburgring sub seven-minute lap time in 2015, the Huracán Performante warmed up its tires and made its rolling start, fitted inside [...]
A funny thing happened in 2015: Lamborghini suddenly got serious about making its big, 12-cylinder flagship go around a corner, not a traditional strength of such models.
Yes, the Aventador has had racy inboard, pushrod suspension from day one, but like so many previous V-12 Lamborghinis, it was still far better at going fast in a straight line than a curved one. That changed with the Aventador SV and was quickly followed by the Aventador-based Centenario. My fervent hope was that this would be a permanent change in philosophy, and having now experienced the Aventador S, I can happily report the revolution lives.
The Aventador S’ improved handling is primarily a result of a rear steering system that can turn the rear wheels up to 1.5 degrees in-phase with the front wheels for better high-speed cornering or up to three degrees opposite the front wheels for better low-speed [...]
Sant’Agata Bolognese, 19 December 2016 The new Lamborghini Aventador S is characterized by new aerodynamic design, redeveloped suspension, increased power and new driving dynamics. The ‘S’ is the suffix of previous enhanced Lamborghini models and defines a new benchmark for the V12 Lamborghini.
“This is the next generation Aventador as well as the expression of new technological and performance milestones in super sports car development,” says Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stefano Domenicali. “The Aventador S is visionary design, cutting-edge technology and driving dynamics in pure harmony, and elevates the concept of super sports cars to a new level.”
Design and Aerodynamics
The design of the new Aventador S clearly indicates the new Aventador generation. The Aventador S features a number of exterior developments, particularly in front and rear, while [...]
Forget what you know about raging bulls. Lamborghini wants to show you a softer side of Italian supercars.
So says CEO Stefano Domenicali, who moved to the company’s top spot in March. Since then, he’s been calling for a change in tone at the Volkswagen Group-owned house. Where the sharp-edged V-12 and V-10 aggression of the Murcielago, Gallardo, and Aventador reigned supreme for years, Domenicali said, buyers can expect to see something different in the next few years. “A bull is always aggressive, but I would like to give us a new philosophy toward the future: A bull can be gentle,” he said.
The goal will be to make Urus immediately identifiable as a Lamborghini, both in how it looks and in how it drives, and to make it immensely “personalizeable” for a young (30-45) target audience whose members view themselves as the “protagonists” of their own lives, [...]
From the unmistakable roar of the engine to the legendary attention to detail, RUF cars are in a league of their own, and Vancouver and Calgary-based Weissach Performance Ltd. is proud to announce it has become Canada’s sole representative of RUF Automobile of Germany. RUF Automobile GmbH began its life in 1939 in Pfaffenhausen, Germany, and in 1981 became officially recognized as a manufacturer by the German Department of transport. In 1974, Alois Jr. Took control of the business from his father and founder Alois Ruf Sr, and inspired by his love of Porsche automobiles decided to start a Porsche repair and service shop. The company has since become the ultimate driver’s car proving that sports cars do not necessarily need to be without compromise.

The Koenigsegg One:1 owned by the BHP Project and driven by Oliver Webb broke the Vmax200 speed record not once, not twice but three times last weekend, with a terminal speed of 240mph over the 1.4 mile track at Bruntingthorpe, in the United Kingdom.
If some of that last sentence didn’t make sense to you, here are the main players in this drama…..
The BHP Project is the online presence that represents a rather extraordinary collection of sports cars, including the blue carbon Koenigsegg One:1.
Oliver Webb (Oli) is a World Endurance Championship driver from the UK, driving in the LMP1 class for ByKolles Racing in 2016.
Vmax200 by Auto Vivendi – from the event’s own website – “is the UKs premier top–speed driving event where owners of sports cars, supercars and hypercars gather at a private runway to drive their cars to their limits.”
